TRAIN services in Victoria will operate as normal on the North East Railway Line after a car was hit by a freight train at a level crossing in Wangaratta overnight.
The Bowser level crossing near Federation Way was cleared and reopened ahead of 7am (AEDT) after a 3am crash that saw a Toyota hatch-back stuck on the crossing hit by a freight train.
The two occupants of the maroon coloured car were taken to Wangaratta Base hospital after the crash with a man suffering serious, but non-life threatening injuries and a woman suffering minor wounds.
