Numerous Twitter users responded to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s announcement that he would allow business to open 100% and end the statewide mask mandate by vowing to continue wearing masks indefinitely and boycott businesses that don’t enforce them.
Abbott gave a press conference yesterday during which he said all restrictions would be lifted on March 10.
“Too many Texans have been sidelined from employment opportunities,” Abbott said. “Too many small business owners have struggled to pay their bills. This must end. It is now time to open Texas 100%.”

However, numerous respondents said they would defy the lifting of the mandate by continuing to cover their faces and demanding others do the same.
Some also asserted that would continue to boycott businesses that don’t enforce mask mandates.
“Dear fellow Texans, please ignore this man. He doesn’t give a damn whether you live or die. He’s concerned with profits — not people. Continue as you were until more people are vaccinated,” asserted one respondent.

“I intend to continue wearing a mask because I am one of the MILLIONS of Texans not yet eligible for vaccination. I also plan to do what I can to NOT give my business to establishments that unmask,” added another.

“Either way I’ll still be wearing mine,” said another.
Either way I’ll still be wearing mine. I never realized how nasty some ppl are especially when coughing/sneezing 🤢. I don’t need other ppl’s germs. A whole year since this started I’ve not been sick with a cold. Prior to Covid I was sick either with a cold or allergies (TX😒)

“I’m of the mind that even if you have gotten fully vaccinated, you should still be wearing masks until NOBODY needs them any more,” said another respondent.
I’m of the mind that even if you have gotten fully vaccinated, you should still be wearing masks until NOBODY needs them any more. Don’t make it a “status” thing of, “Oh, I’m fully vaccinated, I don’t need to wear one.” Thing is I’ve seen it twice now at Publix of all places.

The issue of Coronavirus lockdowns has clearly gone beyond any reasoned debate and devolved into both masks and the restrictions themselves representing a divisive wedge issue.
Many leftists would presumably be happy to continue mask mandates and crippling measures that have wrecked many small businesses forever simply as a way of virtue signaling against Republicans and conservatives.
