In a predawn assault on Thursday, militants dynamited a key rail track in Koshanki area of district Noshki in Balochistan province, suspending train services between neighboring Iran and Pakistan.
The attackers have reportedly managed to flee from the scene.
No casualties were reported in the attack.
The railway officials have confirmed the incident while repair work on the damaged tracks has been put into motion.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
Meanwhile, in a separate militant attack in the Balochistan province on Wednesday, unknown militants destroyed a gas pipeline in Pirkoh area of the Dera Bugti district.
Over the recent months, similar attacks on gas and electricity lines have been common in the gas-rich area.
