Kelly Ripa and Anderson Cooper stopped by “Watch What Happens Live” (Weeknights, 11 p.m. ET on Bravo) Monday night and talked about the on-going search for a new co-host of “Live! With Kelly.”
Ripa’s been fronting the show with a series of guest co-hosts since Regis Philbin retired in November 2011.
Anderson was a fan favorite to take over the gig full-time, but that’s off the table now that he has his own daytime talk show. Andy Cohen asked the pair if, when they look at each other, “do you two feel like ‘these are the ones that got away?'”
Kelly said she does. “I still feel,” she told Anderson, “like you and I are destined to be together, some day, somehow.”
And it’s not just “Live! With Kelly” that wants Anderson. The silver fox scored 88 percent of the votes in a “WWHL” viewers’ poll to determine “Which CNN Anchor would you most like to get busy with?” He left second-placed Sanjay Gupta trailing in the dust with 7 percent. Piers Morgan and Wolf Blitzer were tied for third on 2 percent each and Larry King brought up the rear with 1 percent.
