Bob Katter’s Australia Party is giving bullets to gun clubs in return for votes, it has been reported.
Gun dealer and party vice-president Robert Nioa confirmed the “sponsorship” scheme to The Australian, as Queensland Attorney-General Paul Lucas condemned the fledgling political entity’s financial links to shooting interests.
Mr Lucas said he was seeking crown law advice on a loophole in electoral laws that spared the party from having to declare more than $500,000 in donations in electoral returns.
