On Friday, hundreds of demonstrators in Pakistan’s southern coastal city of Karachi protested outside the United States consulate and burned the US flag.
Angry protesters criticized the international community for not taking action to stop the bloodshed in Afghanistan.
The demonstrators also condemned the Qur’an desecration by US troops at Bagram Air Field outside Kabul on February 20.
On March 11, a US soldier opened fire on Afghan civilians inside their homes in the district of Panjwaii in the southern province of Kandahar, killing 16 of them and injuring several others.
However, according to a fact-finding mission set up by the Afghan parliament at least 20 US soldiers were involved in the killing.
After probing the circumstances and speaking to witnesses and locals, it was concluded that the crime could not have been committed by a single soldier, the head of the mission said on Wednesday.
Earlier, the Afghan government also said that several US troops, not a lone soldier, killed the Afghan civilians.
Meanwhile, the US military insists that only one soldier was involved in the massacre.
The latest string of incidents has further strained relations between Washington and Kabul.
