Joshua Neidorf |
One 13-year-old boy gave away all of his Bar Mitzvah money to help wounded soldiers of the United States.
Joshua Neidorf, from Los Angeles, California, donated his Bar Mitzvah money to the Operation Mend program, a program which helps with things like reconstructing the face of severely burned U.S. soldiers.
Joshua Neidorf, presented a check of $13,000 to University of California’s Operation Mend program.
Neidorf decided to donate his Bar Mitzvah money to the wounded soldiers after he met with Army Sgt. Louis Dahlman, who underwent a series of jaw reconstruction surgeries at UCLA through Operation Mend.
The Niedorf family had signed for the Dahlman’s “buddy family,” were soldiers stay with assigned
families whenever they visited Los Angeles for surgery.
“I love knowing that’s going to help people who save our lives and keep us safe every day,” Neidorf said. His proud mother added: “I feel like our world is going in the right direction with the next generation.”
Operation Mend is a privately funded program that works in partnership with the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
As of today Neidorf is the youngest donor to the organization.
