Jewish point guard Jordan Farmar, whose contract was bought out by the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Atlanta Hawks, will return overseas to play for Turkish team Anadolu Efes, the Newark Star-Ledger reported.

The Brooklyn Nets traded Farmar to Atlanta earlier in the NBA offseason. During last year’s NBA lockout, which shortened the season to 66 games, Farmar played in Israel for Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel.

Farmar, who won two league championships during his time with the Los Angeles Lakers, averaged 10.4 points and 3.3 assists per game for the Nets last season. His contract in Turkey will reportedly be worth $10.5 million over three years.
