And he’s off: Mr Rudd is heading to the US after being given the all clear by doctors
Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd has locked in a whirlwind tour of North America after being given the all clear to return to work after heart surgery.
Mr Rudd’s doctors have cleared him to attend this week’s Australian and United States ministerial-level talks in San Francisco.
Defence Minister Stephen Smith will also attend the Ausmin meeting along with US secretary of state Hillary Clinton and US defence secretary Leon Panetta.
Mr Rudd will also make his first official visit to Mexico, attend the UN General Assembly in New York, and hold other meetings in Washington.
