Former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura said Monday, “Every presidential candidate should be required to where a NASCAR racing suit.”
Appearing on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight, the former wrestler added, “That way it will show who owns them.”
During a rather rambling interview largely about the problem in politics today, Ventura said, “Right now, you got a scenario in this country where they can receive any amount of money from corporations, from anything, and they don’t even have to declare who they got the money from.”
“I’ll give you another one that you’ll laugh it,” he continued. “I think every presidential candidate should be required to where a NASCAR racing suit.”
After host Piers Morgan did indeed chuckle, Ventura asked, “You know why? Well that way it will show who owns them. On NASCAR, they always got all the patches for who their sponsors are. Well that way us as the voters can then look at their suit and realize who owns them. Who paid them the money, who they’re going to favor, and that would make us more informed voters then if they’d wear NASCAR suits.”
“Well Jesse, it’s a brilliant idea,” responded Morgan. “The only problem is, absolutely nobody would ever do it.”
