It has been reported that top people took part in the rape, torture and murder of children at the Haut de la Garenne children’s home on the Island of Jersey.

Witness D, now in his 40s, told the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry he was too scared to report the abuse.

He was in the home from 1981 until he left care in 1984.
Much of his evidence “was too graphic.”
He said he was sexually abused by two members of staff, William Gilbert and Phil Le Bais, and was also physically abused by Morag Jordan.
Gilbert and Le Bais were never charged and are both dead while Jordan was jailed in 2010 for other abuse offences at the home.
Witness D said he left care a broken child and the incidents he described were the tip of the iceberg.
Mr D. said he was also regularly abused by X, but had never reported him to police.

The man said he still refuses to name his attacker because he remains scared of him.
Asked if there was anything he would like to say to the authorities now, Witness D said: “The general public do not realise how bad it was at Haut de la Garenne.
“I hope they have learned that just because you are in a care home does not mean you have done something wrong.”
Mr D broke down in tears a number times while he gave evidence to the panel looking into historical child abuse in Jersey.
Back in 2010, Mr D’s evidence helped convict Morag and Tony Jordan of abusing children at Haut de la Garenne.
He said when he was first contacted by police, they turned up at his flat.
He said there was no mention of support and there was a strong feeling among alleged victims that they still wouldn’t be believed.
“Edward Heath, Prime Minister of England from 1970-74… was a frequent visitor to the Haute Garrene childrens care home on Jersey.”

The following evidence of “Witness 195”, formerly a young boy at Haut de la Garenne, was allowed to be made public:
The man, described as a “well-dressed smooth-talker”, was not staff but began taking the boy out for excursions in an expensive car.
The man began violently sexually assaulting the boy.
The assaults continued for more than three years, most Saturdays, and at various locations around Jersey, including at sea on the man’s yacht.
Later, a worker at the home, Thomas Hamon, began sexually assaulting the boy.
The boy confided in a older friend.
That friend was found hanged at the home.
Sadly, large numbers of children were reportedly murdered at Haut de la Garenne.

Senator Wilfred Krichefski carried out the attack with another man known as ‘The Old Posh Gent’.
In a 2008 police statement, the victim said he was taken by a member of staff who said: “I have a boy for you, sir.”
Krichefski said to the child victim that he was “wicked and no-one really cares for you”.

On Jersey, Senator Wilfred Krichefski served as president of the Harbours and Airport committee and later as president of the Defence committee with responsibility for the police
Krichefski was a Freemason.
Krichefski ran a leading Jersey clothing store and was the founding managing director of ITV’s Channel Television.
He was awarded an OBE by the Queen in 1958.
Living members of the Jersey’s establishment have been identified as abusers but cannot be named for legal reasons.
According to a report in the News of the World, a boy called Simon suffered abuse at Haut de la Garenne over a period of 18 months between 1962 and 63 when he was just 12.
“He said he and another boy were regularly taken into a room at the back of the orphanage where they would be used for the vile pleasure of two men who came to visit – who he nicknamed The Fat Man and The Old Posh Gent.”

“Excavation of the chambers supported charges of horrific torture and murder of children going back to some time before the 40’s.
“Investigators found numerous children’s bone fragments, nearly 40 teeth, and blood remnants.
“One chamber contained a concrete bathtub splattered with blood.
“An incenarator contained bone fragments and teeth, indicated that children’s bodies were dismembered and burned in the underground chambers.”
“Organized abuse of children in state care is all too common and often associated with satanic ritual abuse and mind control programs.”
