Italy to monitor Libyan borders

Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zeidan indicated on November 3rd 2013 that Italy had offered to ensure control over Libya’s borders, including the Al-Awaynat zone, at the junction between Sudan and Egypt.

The Atlanticist media campaign, discretely conducted by NATO, about the sinking of the refugee vessel offshore Lampedusa, on October 3rd 2013, has therefore yielded results. European public opinion is persuaded of the necessity to stymie migration flow coming from Libya, without any newspaper looking into the accusations made by the survivors to the effect that NATO’s ship’s failed to respond to their distress signals, leaving over 300 of their companions to die for the objectives of this campaign.

According to the initial plan, presented by Italy in a letter to Catherine Ashton, Rome was to oversee the inadequate police and military forces of Libya, in order to curtail the departures. However, the chaos in Libya is such that this plan seems impossible for the moment. It was therefore decided that there would be a supervision of the Southern and Eastern borders by Italy, former colonial power. In concrete terms, this means that the European Union has accepted the immigration of Libyans and will attempt to stop the immigration flow from Black Africa.
