During an arrest campaign in the refugee camp, the Israeli occupation forces shot several sound grenades and gas canisters, erupting clashes with the Palestinians minors.
Later on, the Israeli occupation forces targeted the Palestinian youth, identified as Izziddin bani-Gharra, 21, hitting him by two bullets in the chest and the arm.
The youth was evacuated to the public hospital in Jenin, where he was announced dead shortly after he had arrived.
Jenin refugee camp was considered an epicentre of the Second Intifada in the 2000s and earned a reputation as a hub for Palestinian resistance activity. The Israeli occupation forces carried out a wide offensive on the camp in 2002, leaving at least 50 Palestinians dead, 100s wounded.
Bani-Gharra is the twelfth Palestinian to be killed by Israeli occupation forces in occupied East Jerusalem, West Bank, and Gaza since the start of 2015, according to UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, with over 900 injured, not including injuries resulting from settler violence.
Search and arrest raids are regular practice by Israeli occupation forces, who have conducted a weekly average of 86 raids this year, up from 75 a week in 2015, according to a May report by UN Special Coordinator (UNSCO).
These raids often result in what rights groups argue is excessive use of force by Israeli occupation forces against locals, who often throw rocks and empty bottles at the forces.
