Israeli forces demolish plant nursery near Nablus

NABLUS (Ma’an) — Israeli forces tore down a plant nursery in the northern West Bank district of Nalbus on Wednesday, a local official said.Abd al-Rahim Suleiman, the mayor of the village of al-Sawiya south of Nablus, told Ma’an that a bulldozer escorted by military vehicles arrived in the morning and demolished a plant nursery owned by Fahd Audah Salih on the village’s main road. He said the nursery was 1,500 square meters and included an ancient two-room building which had been built before Israeli forces occupied the West Bank in 1967. Suleiman called the demolition “unjustifiable.”An Israeli army spokesperson did not immediately respond to Ma’an’s request for comment on the case.According to the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions, more than 48,480 Palestinian homes and structures have been demolished by Israel since 1967. Meanwhile, The UN Officer for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs recorded the demolition of 501 Palestinian-owned structures in 2015, which displaced 659 people.
