Days of Palestine, Jerusalem -Israeli Magistrate Court decided Wednesday to keep 12-year-old Palestinian boy Ali Alqam in prison over alleged stabbing attack.
Ali Alqam, with his cousin Muawiya, 14, were kidnapped on November 10 last year at a light rail station in the illegal Israeli settlement of Pisgat Zeev.
During the kidnapping, the Israeli occupation forces shot Ali, who turned 12 inside the Israeli prisons. He suffered wounds in several parts of his body and underwent surgeries to remove bullets from his body.
Muawiya was immediately indicted on charges of attempted murder and possession of a knife; however, the Israeli public prosecution failed to provide any proof for its claims.
The Israeli judge of the Israeli occupation court ruled to keep the young Palestinian boy in prison for a year. The judge added that Ali would be moved from Acre to Ein Naqquba west of Jerusalem.
Ali’s lawyer had presented several requests to the court to reconsider the boy’s detention, but the judge decided to extend Ali’s detention on the grounds that he still needs psychotherapy.
Early this month, the Israeli Magistrate Court decided to turn Ali to a supervised prison for a year over “terrorism” charges.
