Israeli authorities revoke IDs of 4 Pal prisoners

Days of Palestine, Jerusalem –Israeli occupation authorities revoked on Thursday IDs of four Palestinian prisoners from the occupied city of Jerusalem.

Head of Popular Committee for the Prisoners’ Families Amjad abu-Asab said that the Israeli occupation authorities revoked the IDs of wounded prisoner Bilal abu-Ghanim, 22, prisoner Abed Diweedat, 20, prisoner Mohamed abu-Kaff, 19, and prisoner Waleed al-Atrash,19.

Abu-Asab said that the Israeli occupation authorities accuse the four Palestinian prisoners of carrying out attacks against Israeli citizens. The prisoners deny all the Israeli claims.

“This is an old-new Israeli measure taken against the Palestinian residents of the holy city of Jerusalem in order to evacuate it from its own people and replace them with Israeli Jewish settlers,” Abu-Asab told Days of Palestine.

He recalled a similar measure taken against the Palestinian MPs from Jerusalem, who were freely elected in 2006. In addition, they also has revoked the ID of Jerusalem Minister Khalid abu-Arafah.

A number of rights groups condemned this Israeli measure against the indigenous Palestinian residents of the holy city, noting this is a “flagrant violation” of human rights and international law.

Israeli authorities revoked IDs of more than 120 Palestinians from occupied Jerusalem in 2014, and 2015. Since 1967, the Israeli authorities revoked IDs of 14,309 Jerusalemites.
