The Israeli army has confirmed the assault on the northern Gaza Strip.
Last week, four Palestinians were wounded in two Israeli airstrikes targeting al-Tufah and Zeitoun neighborhoods in Gaza City.
More than 1,400 Palestinians were killed during Israel’s December 2008-January 2009 war on the people in the coastal strip.
The Gaza Strip is the “world’s largest open-air prison,” with Tel Aviv exercising full control over the airspace, territorial waters, and border crossings of the blockaded territory.
