FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda The Islamic Republic enjoys ample might and military capabilities to counter any threats against the country and hence the US and Israel will not dare to launch a military attack on Iran, Head of the IRGC Public Relations Department Lieutenant General Ramezan Sharif said on Tuesday.
He warned that any military strike against Iran will have “terrible and inconceivable consequences” for Washington and its allies.
On February 2, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said if the Western sanctions against Iran fail to halt its nuclear program, military action against the country must be put on the agenda.
The United States, Israel and their European allies accuse Tehran of pursuing military objectives in its nuclear program and have used this pretext to push for international and unilateral sanctions against the Islamic Republic.
Washington and Tel Aviv have also threatened Tehran with the “option” of a military strike over its nuclear program.
Tehran, however, refutes such allegations as “baseless” and maintains that as a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency it has every right to develop and acquire nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
Iranian officials have also promised a crushing response to any military strike against the country, warning that any such measure could result in a war that would spread beyond the Middle East.
