In an interview with Press TV on Sunday, Ralph Schoenman, the author of The Hidden History of Zionism, said the Israeli “destruction of Palestinian existence is geared to pertain to the larger agenda of war in the region; imperial plunder, imperial war.”
Schoenman added that the agenda of the Tel Aviv regime is to “expel the Palestinian people.”
On February 14, the only power plant in the Gaza Strip stopped generating electricity due to lack of fuel. Palestinian officials blamed the Israeli blockade of the coastal enclave for the power outage.
Schoenman stated that Israel has “maintained an effective blockade of Gaza, cutting it off from essential supplies, from food, from medicine and now destroying its capacity to sustain power, which means power is not available for essential services like hospitals and doctors and operations and procedures and that is a sustained policy.”
The political analyst slammed the regime in Tel Aviv for its “cruel assault upon the survival capacity of the besieged people” of Gaza.
Schoenman also called on the international community to understand the Israeli actions as “war crimes” against the Palestinians in Gaza.
The coastal sliver has been blockaded since 2007, a situation which has caused a decline in the standard of living and brought about unprecedented levels of unemployment and poverty.
