‘Israel eyes Mediterranean oil, gas’

According to a report published by the Turkish Haber Monitor news agency on Monday, Mossad agents have chosen a synagogue in the town of Kyrenia in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as their base. Mossad agents and Jewish community members regularly meet in the synagogue.

The report adds that the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT) established a special unit in 2010 following an order from Turkish intelligence chief Hakan Fidan to investigate the matter.

Mossad agents have reportedly been concerned about being scrutinized by the MIT officials.

Other reports show that Jewish businessmen have made large investments in Kyrenia regarding the Mediterranean oil and gas.
