ISIS IS DYING!

Analysts report that ISIS is on the wane—ISIS is dying!

The Atlantic published an article that indicated that ISIS’ greatest weapon is their attack on weak and ill-prepared populations, but that their momentum has stalled since August, 2014.  The Atlantic further reported that financial and military resources available to ISIS has greatly declined since US-led air strikes destroyed this rouge group’s equipment and capacity to refine oil.  Without outside support, ISIS cannot sustain its military effort because they lack the industrial base to manufacture required materiel of war.

The Week reported that thousands of ISIS fighters have died in Coalition air raids.  It also stated that there has been a 90% decline in the number of foreign fighters crossing the border from Turkey into Syria to join ISIS in their “holy” war.

General Mansour al-Jabour, head of the Jordanian Royal Air Force, cites the number of ISIS Fighters killed during air raids as being some 7,000, and stated that ISIS has lost 20% of its military capacity since the air strikes started in September, 2014.

Although ISIS appears to be dying militarily, it possesses the ability to unleash havoc through the use of terroristic tactics.  Its fighters have shown that they will go to barbaric extremes in their terroristic behavior, as evidenced by the beheading of foreign captives and the recent burning alive of a captured Jordanian pilot.

The good news is that Al-Qaeda and many Muslim clerics have resoundingly condemned ISIS for the heinous execution of the Jordanian pilot, a Muslim. Islamic Law prohibits Muslims from both killing other Muslims and burning  combatants alive. As a result of the burning death of the Jordanian pilot ISIS gained no new Muslim allies; instead many Muslims who may have been sympathetic to or at least neutral toward ISIS are now united in opposition to ISIS.

In June 2014, when ISIS declared a Caliphate (Islamic State) in the land they had conquered in Iraq and Syria, the majority of Muslims refused to pledge allegiance to ISIS emir Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, the Caliph.  In fact, the announcement of the Caliphate alienated some of ISIS’ potential allies.

General Mansour al-Jabour has declared in unambiguous language that the Jordan Air Force is targeting Baghdadi—“He’s on the top of our list,” the General stated.
