nsnbc : Two bomb attacks against restaurants in the al-Shavili neighborhood in al-Qamishli, in the northern Syrian province of Hasaka, killed 16 civilians and injured another 35. The bombings were carried out by the self-proclaimed Islamic State, a.k.a. ISIS / ISIL or Daesh.

The bombings were carried out against the Miami and Gabriel restaurants in the city center. Two of the injured are in critical condition, reports the Syrian State news agency SANA quotes Syrian Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi as saying that the terrorists are concerned and may perpetrate any other foolish action, so “we have to be careful, precise, and enhance facing terrorists”.
The bombing of the restaurants came as ISIL, Jaysh al-Islam, Jabhat al-Nusrah and other insurgencies fighters have suffered significant losses and against the backdrop of UN monitored evacuations of some of the terrorists’ battle groups (Kitabs).
Al-Zoubi denounced the bombings as dirty and spiteful attempts to carry out revenge against the people of al-Qamishli. The predominantly Syrian – Kurdish town may have been targeted in revenge for Syrian Kurdish YPG fighters’ struggle against ISIL and other insurgencies. On Thursday the Syrian Cabinet unanimously denounced the bombings.
Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi said in a statement that such Takfiri terrorists’ explosions that target a number of Syrian cities are a clear and sound proof of the brutality of such criminal gangs that perpetrate them, as well as their desperate attempts to raise the defeated and collapsed morale of their members as the achievements of the army and national reconciliations are increased. Halqi added:
“Such terrorist explosions would not derail us from facing them [terrorists] till liberating every inch of the Syrian territory”, . … We are looking forward to the next year to be the year of the greater victory over terrorism and the return of security and stability to the country.
The Prime Minister offered condolences to the bereft families and expressed his hopes for the recovery of the injured.
