The Minister of Culture of Ireland, the Mayor of Dublin, the Iranian Ambassador to Ireland, the Chairman of Isfahan City Council, and the Chairman of Isfahan Provincial Council attended the opening ceremony held in Dublin’s Civic offices on June 5, 2012.
In order to introduce Iran’s rich heritage, Isfahan’s culture, Iranian traditional Pahlevani or Zourkhaneh martial arts, various handicrafts, visual arts and photo gallery were presented to the Irish people during the gala.
Apart from introducing the city’s tourist attractions, live artistic performances were held to present the Iranian traditional and classical music.
Iranian cultural treasures showcased in Dublin impressed a large number of visitors who had come to the event.
“Events like this that aims to introduce the capacities and attractions of a city to the world will have many constructive effects, mainly the expansion of cultural exchange with foreign tourists and revenue generation,” deputy head of Isfahan Municipality for international and organizational affairs, Mehdi Jamalinejad had earlier said.
Organized by Isfahan Municipality in collaboration with the Iran Embassy in Ireland, Isfahan cultural week came to an end on June 8, 2012.
