Sparrow, one of our favorite email app clients for iOS devices, is now the property of Google.
While the sale, which is reportedly for less than $25 million, is assumedly a good thing for Sparrow employees and shareholders, it has mixed results for the rest of us.
Future iterations of Gmail on iOS and Macs will no doubt be improved and “beautified” with help from the Sparrow team. However, the acquisition also means that there will be no more enhancements to Sparrow’s existing applications.
Is Google’s acquisition of Sparrow and net positive or negative for iDevice owners? Let us know.
