IRGC ready to counter threats to Iran

IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said Monday that the forces enjoy full control over the region, and monitor the enemies’ moves so that they cannot pursue their objectives.

He also noted that Tehran has been seeking to establish collective security in the region without the presence of any outside power.

On March 20, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei emphasized that the Iranian nation will respond proportionally to any potential threat against its soil by the US or Israel.

“We do not possess a nuclear weapon and we will never build one, but we will defend ourselves against any aggression, whether by the US or the Zionist regime, proportionally,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

On March 15, Iran’s Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said despite Tel Aviv’s escalating war rhetoric against Iran, the Israeli regime is too small to survive even one week of real war.

He also said Iran does not consider Israeli claims or threats as real threats.

On January 2, Iranian Navy wrapped up its Velayat 90 naval drills, which it launched on December 24, 2011. The naval maneuvers were conducted in an area stretching from the east of the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Aden.
