“The praiseworthy and laudable arrest of the agents behind the assassination of the country’s nuclear scientists – Majid Shahriari, Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan and Reza Qashqaei (the driver)- by the Intelligence Ministry has filled the Iranian nation with new hope,” the IRGC said in a statement published on Saturday.
The statement added that the arrest proved Iran’s intelligence prowess as well as frustration of the global arrogance and international Zionism as well as the failure of their evil scenarios against the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic establishment.
“This great achievement which was made possible via a series of complicated intelligence operations shows that think tanks…belonging to hegemonic world system and the Zionist regime [of Israel] will have no better fate than failure and humiliation in their struggle against the Islamic Republic’s intelligence and security systems,” the IRGC added.
The statement concluded by issuing a stern warning to global arrogance and their “terrorist and criminal mercenaries,” adding that the Iranian nation will continue on the path of its martyred nuclear scientists and will foil all terrorist conspiracies.
On June 14, Iran’s intelligence ministry announced the capture of main elements behind the assassination of the country’s nuclear scientists.
“The key perpetrators of the assassinations of Majid Shahriari, Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan (two of the slain nuclear scientists) and Reza Qashqaei (the driver) were identified and, in a series of rapid operations, were arrested and transferred to detention facilities,” the ministry added in a statement.
The statement pointed to Iran’s extensive intelligence operations following the assassination of the first Iranian nuclear scientist in 2010 and pointed out that the investigations led to the identification of a number of Israeli intelligence officers and their mercenaries.
