Tehran, Dec 4, IRNA – Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi’s office in a statement refused dispatch of foreign troops to Iraq for fighting Daesh (ISIL).
The premier office in a statement released on Thursday said that Iraq neither wants nor needs foreign ground troops in its battle against Daesh militants who have strongholds in the northern part of the country.
Speaking about foreign troops, Abadi said that “We don’t want them. We won’t allow them.’
Abadi argued that Iraq’s army is capable of waging the ground campaign against Daesh and needs army and air support from the international community against terrorist groups.
Iraqi prime minister called dispatch of foreign troops to Iran as violation of the country’s sovereignty.
