Iraqi official calls for screening Iranian movies in Iraq

Tehran, June 11, IRNA – Iraqi official in charge of Cinema at Culture Ministry Qahtan Abdul-Jalil called for screening Iranian movies in Iraq.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Iran’s cultural attaché in Baghdad Gholamreza Abazari.

The two sides also discussed different cultural issues, especially in cinema.

Abazari talked about creating opportunity for continuation of cultural and art cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of cinema.

Considering the needs for education in the film industry like photography, makeup, movie director, filming, the Iraqi official expressed hope for assistance from their Iranian friends.

According to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the two sides decided to sign a memorandum of understanding on cinema and theatre and the Iraqi department of Iraq Culture Ministry would prepare a memorandum of understanding to be signed for screening the movie of ‘Mohammad, the Messenger’ in Iraq.
