Police said on Sunday that three car bomb blasts killed 11 people and wounded 38 in Mahmudiya, a town 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) south of the capital city of Baghdad.
Two other explosions killed five people and wounded 14 in a crowded market in Madaen, a town 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) southeast of the capital.
In the central city of Najaf, four people were killed and 28 others wounded in bombing attacks.
Najaf is the site of the mausoleum of the third Shia Imam Ali (PBUH), which gather Muslims from all around the world.
Bombing attacks are common in Iraq, especially in the area south of Baghdad.
Official figures show that at least 237 people were killed and 603 wounded in attacks last month.
