Iran’s tourist attraction grows 3 times more than global average: VP

Tehran, December 31, The Iran Project – Iranian Vice-President and the head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization says Iran has attracted tourists three times more than global average in the past two years.

Masoud Soltanifar, a deputy to the Iranian president and the head of Iran’s cultural heritage and tourism organization, said that while average growth of tourism in the world is 4.6%, Iran has witnessed 12% growth in tourism since the last two years.

Referring to the country’s various programs for the development of tourism and tourist attraction, Soltanifar said that in a meeting with four European tourism ministers since the last two months, they announced their readiness to cooperate with our country.

Iranian Vice-President also announced the development of proposed tourism package in the post-sanction era that will be available to investors.

He also referred to the economic and cultural effects of tourism in Iran, adding that between 9 to 11 percent of effective employment of all countries in the world is related to the tourism industry.
