Iran’s home-built radars tested in drill

Various stationary and mobile radars produced and upgraded by Iranian experts were put to test and were assessed during the third phase of the four-day exercise codenamed Tharallah on Wednesday in a bid to enhance Iran’s air defense capabilities.

In addition to the Kashef and Matla’ al-Fajr radars, Kasta surveillance radars and Nebo mobile radar system were also deployed to detect, identify and report enemy movements to operational units.

Meanwhile, Iran’s armed forces also developed initiatives to identify advanced systems of the hypothetical enemy by radars.

Iran’s Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base started the Tharallah exercise on Monday within an area of 190,000 square kilometers in southern Iran, with the key objective of boosting the country’s air defense.

Iran maintains that the military drills are defensive in nature and meant to convey a message of peace and friendship to regional countries.

Tehran has also conveyed a public invitation to regional states to engage in joint naval drills with Iranian forces.
