Iran, Zimbabwe call for closer ties

Salehi made the remarks during a meeting with Zimbabwean Defense Minister Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa in Tehran on Sunday.

The two sides highlighted their good bilateral political relations and discussed ways to expand ties in all spheres.

Salehi noted that the Islamic Republic had attained self-sufficiency in many fields, including aviation, nanotechnology, and defense industries, and can share its experiences with the African country.

For his part, the Zimbabwean minister expressed hope that interactions between the two countries would expand further.

Mnangagwa also held a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi, where the two called for the promotion of all-out cooperation.

Vahidi also praised the economic and political relationship between Tehran and Harare, emphasizing that the fact that the two had established six different joint commissions was indicative of amicable relations in all fields.
