Iran urges resistance against enemies

“If a nation decides to move toward achieving progress and advancement, it will definitely obtain very valuable results,” said the president in a meeting with Zimbabwean Defense Minister Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa in Tehran on Tuesday.

He added that Iran and Zimbabwe will always stand together in a variety of international scenes, since both countries are on the same page and continue to make efforts towards promoting human values and serving their national interests.

The Iranian chief executive expressed confidence that such efforts would certainly lead to an ultimate triumph.

President Ahmadinejad also expressed Iran’s willingness to expand all-out relations with Zimbabwe.

The Zimbabwean defense minister, for his part, pointed out that Tehran and Harare enjoy common grounds on global issues.

He added that similar to the Iranians, the Zimbabwean nation will also resist against foreign pressure and sanctions in service of their national interests.

At the end of Mnangagwa’s four-day official visit to Tehran on Tuesday, the two countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the expansion of joint defense cooperation.

The MoU was signed by Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi and his Zimbabwean counterpart.

During his stay in Tehran, Mnangagwa held talks with Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and Vahidi on mutual issues as well as major regional and international developments.
