‘Iran to stand, parrying all US ammo’

“The US and its regional mercenaries must know that even if they were to target the Iranian nation with all their ammunitions, this nation will stand and they will disappear,” Tehran’s interim Friday Prayers Leader Hojjatoleslam Kazem Seddiqi said on Sunday.

“While the Iranian nation is growing and progressing every day, they (US and its allies) are dissipating,” he added, while speaking on the occasion of the first anniversary of the assassination of the Iranian nuclear energy scientist Dariush Rezaeinejad.

Rezaeinejad was killed by unidentified gunmen outside his house in Tehran on July 23, 2011.

The senior Iranian cleric said enemy feared the Iranian scientists, who were pioneers in the country’s flourishing field of nuclear energy.

The martyrdom of the Iranian nuclear energy scientists is a sign of Iran’s endurance and the fear and destruction of the enemy, he added.

The first victim of the terrorist attacks was professor Ali-Mohammadi, a lecturer at Tehran University, who was killed by a booby-trapped motorbike in the Iranian capital in January 2010.

On November 29, 2010, Professor Majid Shahriari and Dr. Fereydoun Abbasi were targeted by terrorist attacks; Shahriari was killed immediately and Dr. Abbasi sustained injuries.

Later in January 2012, Iranian nuclear scientist Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan was assassinated after an unknown motorcyclist attached a magnet bomb to his car in Tehran.

On June 14, Iran’s Intelligence Ministry announced the capture of the main elements behind the murder of the Iranian nuclear experts.
