The events will pay tribute to veteran modern painter Mansoureh Hosseini, and Iranian artist and master of teahouse painting Mohammad Farahani.
Iranian art lovers can attend the ceremonies on August 2 and 9, 2012, respectively.
Mansoureh Hosseini graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Tehran in 1949. She continued her studies at the Rome Academy of Fine Arts and made her debut at the 28th (XXVIII) Venice Biennial in 1956.
She won several awards at the Tehran Painting Biennial after returning to Iran in 1959. She exhibited her works at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts in 2004.
Known for her figurative and abstract works, Hosseini often included elements of the Kufic script in her paintings.
Her works incorporate traditional elements of both Persian and contemporary European cultures.
Hosseini displayed her works in many solo and group exhibitions in Iran, Italy and the Czech Republic. She has also won numerous awards at Venice Biennial and the Rome Quadriennale.
She passed away in late June 2012, at the age of 86.
Mohammad Farahani practiced teahouse painting with master artist Hossein Ghollar Aghasi for fourteen years and created many great works during his artistic career.
His paintings are housed at a number of Iranian museums and art centers such as Tehran’s Reza Abbasi Museum.
Teahouse painting is a form of art which embodies some elements of miniature painting. The works painted in this style mostly depict religious and national events.
Farahani was hospitalized because of severe abdominal pain and later slipped into a coma and died on July 3, 2012.
