Iran sells over $1.2bn non-oil products

Masoud Nasouri, the managing director of Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ), said that ten cargos of various gas condensates worth some USD 818,577 million were exported from the PSEEZ in Assaluyeh in the southern province of Bushehr between April 20 and May 20.

The official noted that about 430,000 tons of non-oil products worth USD 252 million were exported to other countries during the same period.

Light and heavy polyethylene, butane, benzene, urea, raffinate, methanol and sulfur were among the major products sold during the time span, he added.

Countries such as China, Japan, UAE, India, Indonesia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Turkey, Romania, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Afghanistan are the main destinations for the exports from the Pars Special Energy Economic Zone.

South Pars covers an area of 9,700 square kilometers, 3,700 square kilometers of which are within Iran’s territorial waters in the Persian Gulf. The remaining 6,000 square kilometers, i.e. the North Dome, are in Qatar’s territorial waters.

The Iranian gas field contains 14 trillion cubic meters of natural gas (about eight percent of the world’s reserves) and more than 18 billion barrels of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
