Today, Iranian experts are successfully carrying out all processes of exploration, conversion and enrichment of uranium as well as designing research reactors and installing power reactors, which show Iran’s progress in this field, Salehi said on Thursday.
The United States, the Israeli regime and some of their allies accuse Tehran of pursuing military objectives in its nuclear energy program, using the pretext to push for sanctions against Iran. Washington and Tel Aviv have also threatened the country with a military strike.
This is while the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has never found any evidence indicating that Tehran’s nuclear energy program has been diverted to a nuclear weapons program.
Salehi, who was speaking in a gathering of Iranian businessmen and industrialist in the Iranian embassy in the Tajik capital of Dushanbe, also referred to different projects executed by Iranian experts in Tajikistan, including the Sang Toudeh II Hydroelectric Power Plant, and said the implementation of the project is considered as a great achievement for Iran and will elevate the country’s status.
Iran has invested around $180 million in the project, along with Tajikistan’s $40-million investment, and is expected to carry out the management of the plant for 12 years. Tajikistan’s national power company will then take over from Iran.
The Sang Toudeh II will help Tajikistan in its industrial and agricultural sectors and in meeting its energy needs during the cold season.
Salehi arrived in Tajikistan on Wednesday night on an official invitation extended by his Tajik counterpart Hamrokhon Zarifi.
