“Iran’s influence in the region does not mean deploying its military there. The Islamic Republic has never sought troop deployment to the region,” said Mohsen Rezaei during an open session of the Iranian Majlis (parliament) on Sunday.
If Iran becomes a role model for the regional countries while safeguarding the Islamic, political and economic values, the Western powers will not be capable of confronting Muslim world states, Rezaei added.
The former commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) stated that economic sanctions and political sabotage show the West’s tough stance against Iran.
Rezaei called for taking “a series of measures and firm steps” to confront the Western powers’ bids against Iran and thwart their plots.
He reiterated that the Iranian nation would foil all the enemies’ plots by maintaining its unity and coherence.
