The event kicked off on Thursday in the Iranian capital, Tehran, with the participation of former Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and the Indian ambassador to Iran, Shri D. P. Srivastava, along with several other artistic and cultural figures.
Hassan Bolkhari, an Iranian professor of philosophy of art who also attended the opening ceremony, stressed that the Muslims and Iranian nationals have provided great help to India’s culture and made use of India’s outstanding thoughts in return.
All through the history, the mutual relations existed in the fields of art, culture and wisdom. Iranians have at different times used Indian thoughts, while Indians translated Persian books into Sanskrit, Bolkhari added.
Iran and India have also held exhibitions on tourism industries, paintings and photos, together with seminars on cultural and literary relations between the two countries.
The 6-day event will draw to a close on Tuesday.
