Many Iranian and international scholars flocked in the two-day conference which inaugurated on June 7, 2012.
“The presented articles were selected among those submitted over the past months,” said conference secretary Behrouz Mahmoud Bakhtiari, adding that the Center for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia (CGIE) is scheduled to publish the selected articles of the conference.
“The CGIE, leading by Mahmoudi Bakhtiari, is planning to compile a comprehensive three-volume encyclopedia on the Persian language and dialects,” head of CGIE Kazem Mousavi Bojnourdi announced at the conference.
Furthermore, Mahmoud Jafari Dehaqqi, the academic secretary of the event, pointed out the importance of different dialects in Iran, saying the cultural and historical heritage of the country is beyond the political-geographical borders of today’s Iran.
He also noted that the conference aimed to introduce the latest achievements in the field of language within the scope of past and present Persia to the world.
