TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian national football team’s assistant coach Markar Aghajanyan said that Team Melli needs more warm-up matches to prepare for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification.
Iran almost qualified for the third round of the competition which will be held next year in two groups of six teams.
“We have a difficult task ahead of us in the next stage. I hope that the Iranian football officials to organize more international friendly matches,” Aghajanyan noted.
“Our young players need more international matches to gain experience,” Aghajanyan said.
“The football federation has financial problems and there are not enough facilities for the team,” he added.
