Salehi and Ihsanoglu on Monday expressed satisfaction with the ongoing ministerial meeting of the OIC Contact Group on the Mali crisis in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The Iranian minister and the OIC secretary general emphasized on the OIC role in resolving issues in the Muslim world.
They stressed the importance of stability which prepares the ground for development, welfare and progress of regional countries.
The two sides also exchanged views on ways to consolidate cooperation among Muslim and neighboring countries.
Salehi and Ihsanoglu expressed their opposition to military intervention and the spread of extremism in Syria and emphasized the importance of finding a peaceful political solution and putting an end to war and bloodshed in the crisis-stricken country.
The crisis in Syria began in March 2011, and many people, including large numbers of soldiers and security personnel, have been killed in the violence.
