Tehran, March 29, IRNA – Iran national football team defeated Oman 2-0 on Tuesday in Group D of 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
The game was held at Tehran’s Azadi Stadium in front of 30,000 enthusiastic spectators.
Both Iran’s goals were scored in the first half by the hosts’ striker Sardar Azmoon. One of the goals was scored in the sixteen minute and the other one was scored in the 23rd minute.
With this win, Iran advanced to the next stage with 20 points followed by Oman that bagged 14 points.
2018 FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia.
