Iran calls for educational cooperation with Iraq

Tehran, June 11, IRNA – Education Minister Ali Asghar Fani said on Saturday that Iran and Iraq have formed a joint committee to develop educational cooperation with Iraq.

Fani made the remarks in a meeting with the Iraqi Ambassador to Tehran Rajeh Saber Abboud al-Mousavi and the country’s cultural attaché.

Felicitating the advent of the holy month of Ramadan and cultural and religious bonds between the two countries, Fani said the two countries share cultural affinities and common grounds for economic and social cooperation.

In the meeting, he expressed the hope that the Iraqi people with the assistance of the military supervisors would liberate Iraq from Daesh terrorist group.
The aim of Daesh terrorist group is to weaken Islam and it will be a religious duty of every Muslim to seriously deal with the group, he said.

Some eight thousand Iraqi students are now studying in 13 provinces, he said adding that Iran has schools in the cities of Baghdad, Najaf and Karbala for Iranians residing in Iraq.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to transfer its invaluable experiences on educational fields to its neighboring states mainly Iraq to serve their nations.

The joint committee should study educational problems of students in order to resolve them at the earliest, said the Iranian minister.

The Iraqi ambassador said for his part that the invaluable services of the Iranian education ministry to Iraqi students residing in the country is very remarkable.

The Islamic Republic of Iran spares no efforts to fully back the Iraqi government and nation and the Iraqi nation are very proud for geographical vicinity with Iran, he said.
Iran through dispatch of military supervisors has assisted the Iraqi government and ‘We thank God to appoint the Iranian government as source of hope for the oppressed nations round the globe.’

Iran taught the world how to survive under a tough global sanctions and live in independence and attain significant economic development, the Iraqi ambassador said.
Iran never triggered any war in the world but always advocated peace, he said adding that the Islamic Republic of Iran during nuclear talks with the world powers remained on its principled stand.
