Iran, Bosnia urge enhanced ties

At a Monday meeting between Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast and Bosnia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Suada Dilberovic in the Bosnian capital, Sarajevo, the two sides lauded the amicable mutual ties as an opportunity to further expand cooperation in different spheres, including tourism, information exchange and media.

Mehmanparast highlighted the need to introduce all the existing capacities to the people and particularly the business entities in the two countries in order to accelerate bilateral transactions.

The Iranian official made reference to the first Iran-Bosnia joint economic commission and expressed optimism that the agreements reached by the body will pave the ground for future collaborations.

He also pointed to the capabilities of Iran’s private sector to provide assistance to Bosnia in the areas of energy, rail transport, food industries and power plants.

Dilberovic, for his part, lauded the Tehran-Sarajevo growing relations and praised Iran’s support for the Muslim European nation during the 1992-1995 Bosnian War.
