“The [national] dialog is a must with regard to the Zionist regime’s [Israel] threats against Lebanon,” Roknabadi told reporters on Monday.
The dialog aims to establish consensus and proximity of views among different Lebanese groups, he added.
Iran has always highlighted the significance of promoting national dialog in Lebanon, the ambassador stated.
All Lebanese groups believe that Lebanon has a single enemy called the Zionist regime. This is why they should make use of all their capabilities to counter the enemy, Roknabadi pointed out.
The national dialog, chaired by Lebanese President Michel Sleiman, resumed on Monday after an 18-month suspension.
The talks mainly focused on the political situation of the country. Also on the agenda is the possible spillover of violence into Lebanon from neighboring Syria.
The dialog is, as well, aimed at addressing a series of bloody clashes between supporters and opponents of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
