Iran adapts Persian epic into PC game

The game titled Siavash is inspired by a story of Ferdowsi’s The Shahnameh with the same title.

In an attempt to introduce Persian culture narrated in old texts, the game focuses on how Siavash, one of the commanders in the army of Turan, was killed by Afrasiab, the king of Turan and how his son Kai Khosrow avenges his father’s death.

Produced at the Sourena Game Studio, Siavash is to be offered at the 2nd edition of Iran’s International Computer Game Expo and Festival, scheduled to be held in Tehran’s Grand Prayer Grounds from June 26 to 30, 2012.

Rostam and Sohrab is another Persian epic-inspired animation that has been recently produced by Kianoush Dalvand. The Fantastic Films International has acquired the global distribution right of the 3D animation.

Iran’s computer game productions have been warmly received by many European, American and East Asian countries so far.

The games have been presented in several international expos such as the renowned European game industry fair, Gamescom, where they won great acclaim by the visitors and experts.
