nsnbc : Guillermo Acha, the president of the state-owned oil and gas company Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB), convened an international conference for next month to discuss the continuing decline in oil prices and strategies to overcome this juncture.
Acha noted that the Sixth International Conference of Oil and Gas 2016 will take place on July 12 and 13 at Los Tajibos hotel, in the southeastern city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
Speaking at a press conference, he added that the international conference would be held under the motto “Resiliency: The actions of the gas industry and oil”.
The director of the Bolivian State-owned company noted that the word resilience refers to the ability to overcome adverse situations, situations that constitute a challenge for the hydrocarbon industry, which is facing difficulties due to falling oil prices.
The conference will also be held as the international oil cartel OPEC, according to many analysts, is about to fall apart.
Acha said that the main points on the agenda would include prospects for the gas industry and its opportunities following the signing of the Agreement on Climate Change in New York City, USA (COP 21), the new global energy situation and the growing Chinese demand for fuel.
Speaking about his own company, the YPFB president said that the company has consolidated the industrialization of the processes related to hydrocarbons and that YPFB, at the end of the year, would inaugurate the urea/ammonia plant which will allow YPFB to increase the commercialization of products such as fertilizers and other chemicals.
