In Nakba 68, Inte’l community fails Palestinian refugees

By Motasem A Dalloul

Days of Palestine, Gaza Strip -Supported by the Western powers, mainly the United Kingdom, Zionists ethnically cleansed Palestinians and forcefully expelled them out of their villages, towns and cities and established the occupation racial state of Israel in 1948.

In 1947, the United Nations issued the resolution to divide Palestinian between the indigenous Palestinian inhabitants and the Zionist Jewish colonisers, who were sponsored and supported to colonise Palestine by the Western powers, mainly the UK.

Of course, the UN Foreign Minister Arthur Balfour issued a declaration on November 2, 1917, promising the Zionist Jews to found a national state for them in Palestine. He ignored that fact that there was a nation and they would never concede their right to live in their land despite all the power of his country.

Since that date, the Zionist Jews started to massacre Palestinians, as well as the British soldiers, who were protecting them, training them, arming them and enabling them to colonise Palestine. The detonation of King David Hotel in Jerusalem has been a well-known witness of the Zionist Jewish violence against the British soldiers in Palestine.

Yet, the carnages carried out against tens of the Palestinian villages and towns are and will still a witness of the Israeli ethnic cleansing, supported by the so-called Western powers, against the Palestinians.

In 1948, around 800,000 Palestinians were violently and forcefully were expelled from their homes and more than 560 Palestinian villages and towns were destroyed. Tens of massacres were carried out against the Palestinians in major cities such as Haifa and Yafa, as well as the holy city of Jerusalem.

On May 14, the Zionist Jewish gangs announced the establishment of their occupation and racist state on the land of Palestine. Immediately, the United States and many other Western powers recognised it; however, Israeli gangs were continuous massacring the Palestinians and expelling them out of their homes.

Unfortunately, the number of countries recognising the Israeli occupation state continued, while the Israeli massacres against the Palestinians continued and even became systematic as a well-organised Israeli army broke into homes and carried out the massacres and this has never stopped.

In 1956, the Israeli occupation army carried out several massacres against Palestinians in West Bank, and the Gaza Strip. My mother, who was an eyewitness, told me that the Israeli soldiers collected tens of men from the main neighbourhoods in central Gaza in 1956 and gathered them in the Gaza Square, opened fire at them and killed them in front of their wives, mothers and children.

My uncle, who was an eyewitness, also told me how the same thing happened in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis at the same week.

This continued in 1967, 1973, 1982 when late Israeli Prime Minister massacred the Palestinian refugees in Sabra and Satilla Refugee Camps in Lebanon. The same thing happened in 1996 by former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres, who was given the Noble Peace Prize -what an irony!

Since 2000, the Israeli occupation has increased its massacres against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. The massacre carried out by Sharon in West Bank in 2002, which was named the Protective Defence Operation is still a witness. Several massacres in Jablia Refugee Camp in northern Gaza and the thousands who were recently massacred in four major offensives on Gaza since 2006.

The last major Israeli offensive on Gaza carried out in 2014, the Israeli occupation targeted residential buildings consisted of more than 12 floors and killed all people inside them, calling it self-defence.

Since 2000, the Israeli occupation has been dividing the West Bank cities and East Jerusalem neighbourhoods into very small cantons and setting up military checkpoints have been used by the Israeli occupation soldiers to carry out field executions of the Palestinians.

In 2006, the Palestinians freely elected the Palestinian Islamist Movement Hamas, the Israeli occupation supported a coup succeeded in West Bank, but failed in Gaza. Since then, the Israeli occupation, backed with the international community has been placing a strict siege on Gaza, causing major shortages of food, drinking water, electricity, medicines and medical equipment, as well as causing unprecedented hikes of unemployment.

Then, what is ironic is that the international community all the way is crying for the Israeli security and calling for protecting it from the unarmed, except from primary homemade ineffective rockets, Palestinians. However, the Israeli occupation state owns more than 200 rockets with nuclear warheads that are able to end life on earth.
