IKCO to sell 10k Samands to Russia

IKCO Vice President for Exports Abdulazim Sa’dian said in a Saturday statement that the cars will be fitted with engines that meet the Euro IV emissions standard.

He added that cargoes of Samand complete knock-down (CKD) parts will be sent to the IKCO assembly line in Belarus, starting from the Iranian calendar month of Mordad (July 22- August 21), and will then be exported to Russia.

Sa’dian also said the IKCO has already taken measures to provide comprehensive sales and after-sales services in major Russian cities.

IKCO exported more than 11,000 units of Samand cars to Russia between 2005 and 2008.

Founded in 1962, the Iranian car producer is currently regarded as one of the leading automakers in the Middle East.

ICKO won an award from Tehran’s Third International Nanotechnology Festival in 2010, as the leading company in nano-related auto industry.

In its five-year future growth prospective, the company envisions reaching an annual manufacturing capacity of three million units, with exports of a million units per year.
